It is up to your provider to switch off their Analogue Cable system. UPC the main cable provider still provides analogue services. Typically a subscriber gets 15 channels. Contact your cable provider to find out about their digital services. UPC do not provide access to RTÉ News Now.
According to ComReg as of May 2012 69% of Irish consumers subscribe to some form of pay TV from Cable and Satellite providers. With just 4.4% of subscriptions being to analogue services.
There are now more options for consumers to move to other digital TV providers.
