9 TV Land (Analogue TV with UK Spillover)

You will need to obtain new equipment. UK Spillover is still possible for some UK channels as Saorview approved TVs and set top boxes (STBs) are compatible with FreeView. Saorview is not compatible with FreeView HD, but FreeView HD TVs and STBs are compatible with Saorview and will pick up the Irish channels. Other FreeView Boxes are not compatible with Saorview as they are older than the technology used for Saorview. However we recommend that you look for a Soar view approved STB to avoid any later confusion.

Note: Freeview STBs/TVs are not compatible with Saorview.

Note: Saorview STBs/TVs are compatible with Freeview, but not with FreeView HD.

Note: Freeview HD STBs/TVs are compatible with FreeView and Saorview however it is important to get such equipment that is Saorview approved.

The Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources has told Analogue channels to place a BUG on screen with the date of ASO and an X to denote that theses services will be turning off on October 24. TV3 has yet to implement such BUGs.

Saorview also has a message appearing on screen for 20 seconds on each channel advising that the channel will close down and that viewers should visit Saorview's website for more information or contact the helpline 1890 222 012.
