RTÉ2 Dips Back Below 5%

Reeling in the Years was the most watch programme with 653,000 viewers looking back at the events of 2010. RTÉ2 has dipped back below 5% audience share, the boost last month by the royals and sport failed to help them make ground. Overall RTÉ saw 2% decrease month on month and a 8% decrease year on year. As the Six Nations ended on Virgin Media Television its audience also departed in April giving them a monthly drop of 13% but a 16% increase year on year. Overall RTÉ held 26% of the audience, while Virgin Media Television had 19%.


TG4 had an audience share of 2%.

RTÉ ONE saw a monthly decrease in audience of 2%, it had an audience share of 19%, down 13% from April last year.

RTÉ2 saw its share decrease 17% from last month, acheiving just 5% share, it was up by 7% from April 2020.

RTÉ ONE +1 and RTÉjr had 1.29% and 0.35% respectively. RTÉ2 +1 had 0.25% in April.

Virgin Media one's audience share was 11% in March, a drop of 18% from March, and a 9% increase year on year.

Virgin Media TWO has a 4% share, down 6% from last month and up 12% from March 2020.

Meanwhile, Virgin Media THREE was at 3%, down 1% from March but up 67% from April 2020. Virgin Media one +1 had an audience share of 0.33%.

eirSport1 saw its audience drop to 0.13%, while Virgin Media Sport also had 0.13%.

English channels had 54% share of the audience in April 2021.
