517 Covid Cases Across Ireland
The 4th of May saw a total of 517 new COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 418 cases. In Northern Ireland 99 cases were reported. In total there have been 371,687 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 418 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 4th of May, with 7 deaths reported. Overall 4,915 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for May 3rd. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 14,284 cases, a daily increase of 9.
A total of 36 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on May 3rd. A total of 28,709 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
The weekending the 4th of May saw an increase in cases of 68 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 3,230 between the 28th of April and 4th of May. A total of 19 COVID releated deaths were reported that week, a decrease of 21 from the previous week.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 99 cases on the 4th of April. They reported no COVID related deaths, 2,146 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
1 person was admitted to hospital on the 4th May. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 9,367.
The weekending the 4th of May saw a decrease in cases of 33 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 608 between the 28th of April and 4th of May. A total of 2 people were reported to have died that week, an decrease of 5 from the previous week. 28 people were admitted to hospital.
