453 Covid Cases Across Ireland

The 2nd of May saw a total of 453 new COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 453 cases. Northern Ireland will no longer update covid case number on weekends or bank holidays, their next update will be on Tuesday, May 4th. In total there have been 370,485 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020.


Republic of Ireland

The headline figures show a total of 453 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 2nd of May, with no deaths reported. Overall 4,906 COVID related deaths have been announced.

The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for May 1st. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 14,268 cases, a daily increase of 9.

A total of 9 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on May 1st. A total of 28,663 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.

Northern Ireland

The Northern Irish Health Department will no longer announce COVID numbers on weekends or bank holidays. For these reason our weekly numbers move to Tuesdays rather than the normal Saturday details.

2,145 have died in the north since the pandemic began.

The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 9,341.
