403 Covid Cases Across Ireland
The 1st of May saw a total of 403 new COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 403 cases. Northern Ireland will no longer update covid case number on Weekends or Bank holidays, their next update will be on Tuesday, May 4th. In total there have been 370,033 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 403 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 1st of May, with no deaths reported. Overall 4,906 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for April 30th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 14,259 cases, a daily increase of 14.
A total of 5 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on April 30th. A total of 28,654 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
In total 530 health care workers were diagnosed with COVID in April or 4% of the total cases reported. In total 632 people were admitted to hospital over the course of April.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department will no longer announce COVID numbers on Weekends or bank holidays. For these reason our weekly numbers move to Tuesdays rather than the number Saturday details.
The total number of COVID cases is 120,195
2,145 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 9,341.
