792 Covid Cases Across Ireland
The 2nd of March saw a total of 792 new COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 566. In Northern Ireland 226 cases were detected. In total there have been 334,195 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 566 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 2nd of March, with 5 deaths reported. Overall 4,357 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for March 1st. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 13,013 cases, UP 29.
A total of 54 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 1st. A total of 27,257 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 226 cases. They report 4 COVID related deaths, 2,063 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
42 people were admitted to hospital on the 2nd of March. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 8,919.
