748 Covid Cases Across Ireland
Yesterday (27th February 2021) a total of 748 COVID-19 cases were detected across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 612. In Northern Ireland 136 cases were detected. 331,337 COVID cases have been detected since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 612 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 27th of February, with 6 deaths reported. Overall 4,319 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for February 26th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 12,882 cases, UP 45.
A total of 42 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 26th. A total of 27,102 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
The weekending the 27th of February saw a drop in cases of 940 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 4,535 between the 21st and 27th of February. A total of 183 people were reported to have died that week, down from 188 the previous week.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 136 cases. They report 3 COVID related deaths, 2,055 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
1 person was admitted to hospital on the 27th of February. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 8,840.
The weekending the 27th of February saw a decrease in cases of 552 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 1,514 between the 21st and 27th of February. A total of 22 people were reported to have died that week, a drop of 15. Total numbers attending hospital that week was 104, down 77.
