508 Covid Cases Across Ireland
The first day of March saw a total of 508 new COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 358. In Northern Ireland 149 cases were detected. In total there have been 333,410 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 358 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 1st of March, with 3 deaths reported. Overall 4,333 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for February 28th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 12,984 cases, UP 70.
A total of 55 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 28th. A total of 27,203 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
In total 2,875 health care workers were diagnosed with COVID in February or 13% of the total cases reported. In total 2,034 people were admitted to hospital over the course of February.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 149 cases. They report 2 COVID related deaths, 2,059 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
22 people were admitted to hospital on the 1st of March. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 8,877.
