873 Covid Cases Across Ireland
Yesterday (21st February 2021) a total of 873 COVID-19 cases were detected across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 686. In Northern Ireland 187 cases were detected. 325,095 COVID cases have been detected since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 686 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 21st of February, with 1 death reported. Overall 4,137 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for February 20th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 12,513 cases, UP 132.
A total of 48 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 20th. A total of 26,701 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
A total of 545 Health Care Workers tested positive for COVID for the weekending the 20th of February, this represents 10% of the total COVID cases for that week. 538 people were admitted to hospital during that week, up 96 from the previous week.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 187 cases. They report 3 COVID related deaths, 2,036 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
1 person was admitted to hospital on the 21st of February. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 8,710.
