952 Covid Cases Across Ireland
Yesterday (20th February 2021) a total of 952 COVID-19 cases were detected across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 679. In Northern Ireland 263 cases were detected. 325,095 COVID cases have been detected since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 952 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 20th of February, with 1 death reported. Overall 4,136 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for February 19th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 12,381 cases, UP 55.
A total of 46 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 19th. A total of 26,653 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
The weekending the 20th of February saw a drop in cases of 539 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 5,475 between the 14th and 20th of February. A total of 188 people were reported to have died that week, down from 262 the previous week.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 263 cases. They report 4 COVID related deaths, 2,033 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
7 people were admitted to hospital on the 20th of February. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 8,702.
The weekending the 20th of February saw a small increase in cases of 20 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 2,066 between the 14th and 20th of February. A total of 37 people were reported to have died that week, a drop of 28. Total numbers attending hospital that week was 147, down 53.
