1,243 Covid Cases Across Ireland
Yesterday (17th February 2021) a total of 1,243 COVID-19 cases were detected across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 901. In Northern Ireland 342 cases were detected. 322,801 COVID cases have been detected since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 901 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 17th of February, with 44 deaths reported. Overall 4,082 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for February 16th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 12,200 cases, UP 73.
A total of 41 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 16th. A total of 26,433 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 342 cases. They report 6 COVID related deaths, 2,021 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
6 people were admitted to hospital on the 17th of February. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 8,626.
