1,358 Covid Cases Across Ireland
Yesterday (6th February 2021) a total of 1,358 COVID-19 cases were detected across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 1,020. In Northern Ireland 334 cases were detected. 310,435 COVID cases have been detected since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 1,020 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 6th of February, with 12 deaths reported. Overall 3,686 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for February 5th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 11,509 cases, UP 69.
A total of 172 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 5th. A total of 25,355 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
The weekending the 6th of February saw a drop in cases of 1,972 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 7,021 between the 31st of January and 6th of February. A total of 379 people were reported to have died that week, up from 337 the previous week.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 334 cases. They report 16 COVID related deaths, 1,931 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
23 people were admitted to hospital on the 6th of February. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 8,316.
The weekending the 6th of February saw a drop in cases of 734 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 2,907 between the 31st of January and 6th of February. A total of 81 people were reported to have died that week, a drop of 39. Total numbers attending hospital that week was 284, down 138.
