1,530 Covid Cases Across Ireland
Yesterday (3rd February 2021) a total of 1,530 COVID-19 cases were detected across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 1,318. In Northern Ireland 412 cases were detected. 306,381 COVID cases have been detected since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 1,318 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 2nd of February, with 46 deaths reported. Overall 3,586 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for February 2nd. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 11,163 cases, UP 114.
A total of 171 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 2nd. A total of 24,730 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
A total of 1,515 Health Care Workers tested positive for COVID for the weekending the 30th of January, this represents 17% of the total COVID cases for that week. 646 people were admitted to hospital during that week, down 610 from the previous week.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 412 cases. They report 10 COVID related deaths, 1,899 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
21 people were admitted to hospital on the 3rd of February. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 8,196.
