1,517 Covid Cases Across Ireland
Yesterday (2nd February 2021) a total of 1,517 COVID-19 cases were detected across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 1,013. In Northern Ireland 504 cases were detected. 304,655 COVID cases have been detected since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 1,517 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 2nd of February, with 47 deaths reported. Overall 3,512 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for February 1st. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 11,049 cases, UP 99.
A total of 231 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 1st. A total of 24,559 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 507 cases. They report 11 COVID related deaths, 1,889 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
22 people were admitted to hospital on the 2nd of February. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 8,153.
