Total COVID Case Reaches over 300,000 Across Ireland
A total of 1,673 COVID-19 cases were detected across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 1,274. In Northern Ireland 426 cases were detected. 300,507 COVID cases have been detected since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 1,673 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 30th of January, with 15 deaths reported. Overall 3,307 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for January 29th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 10,873 cases, UP 115.
A total of 211 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on January 29th. A total of 23,943 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
The weekending the 30th of January saw a drop in cases of 5,835 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 8,993 between the 24th and 30th of January. A total of 337 people were reported to have died that week, down from 362 the previous week.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 426 cases. They report 19 COVID related deaths, 1,850 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
15 people were admitted to hospital on the 30th of January. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 7,981.
The weekending the 30th of January saw a drop in cases of 1,317 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 3,641 between the 24th and 30th of January. A total of 120 people were reported to have died that week, a drop of 4. Total numbers attending hospital that week was 371, down 169.
