3,549 COVID-19 cases were announced across the Island of Ireland tonight. This brings the total cases to 164,613. The HSE and the Department of health announced 1,620 tonight. In Northern Ireland 1,929 cases were detected.

Republic of Ireland

The headline figures show a total of 1,620 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 30th of December, with 12 deaths reported. Overall 2,237 COVID related deaths have been announced.

The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for December 29th. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 5,987 cases, up 55 from the day before.

A total of 20 health care workers were reported to have been infected. A total of 13,336 health care workers have contracted COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

Northern Ireland

The Northern Irish Health Department announced 1,929 cases. They report 11 COVID related deaths, 1,322 have died in the north since the pandemic began.

13 people were admitted to hospital on December 30th. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 5,385.
