686 Covid Cases Across Ireland

The first day in December saw Six hundred and eight-six COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. This brings the total cases to 126,338. The HSE and the Department of health announce 270 new cases in the Republic of Ireland, meanwhile in Northern Ireland 416 new cases were announced.


Republic of Ireland

The headline figures show a total of 270 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 1st of December, with 5 death reported. Overall 2,074 COVID related deaths have been announced.

The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for November 30th. Sixty-six were healthcare workers. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 5,240 cases, up 15.

In the Republic of Ireland 14% of all cases reported were healthcare workers in November, this compares to 5% in October. In total 1,549 cases were Healthcare workers in November. Total admission in November was 829, up 49 from October.

Northern Ireland

Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 416 to 53,272 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital in Northern Ireland is 4,212, up 7.

Northern Ireland recorded four further deaths. There have been 1,015 COVID related death
