53% reduction in monthly Covid Cases Across Ireland
There was a 53% decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland in November, when compared to October. A total of 24,536 case were reported in November. The Republic of Ireland saw a drop of 14,609 cases from October, while Northern Ireland saw a drop of 13,424. In total 446 people died with COVID-19 in November with both sides of the boarder seeing increases, while this was more pronounced in Northern Ireland where 295 people died with COVID-19, this compares to 151 deaths in the Republic. The last day in November saw six hundred and sixty COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. This brings the total cases to 125,654. The HSE and the Department of health announce 269 new cases in the Republic of Ireland, meanwhile in Northern Ireland 391 new cases were announced.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 269 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 30th of November, with 18 deaths reported. Overall 2,069 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for November 29th. One hundred and six were healthcare workers. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 5,225 cases, up 13.
The Republic of Ireland saw a monthly decrease of 58%, this compares to a drop of 75% between April and May. In total 10,796 cases were reported in November, with 151 covid related deaths.
Northern Ireland
Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 391 to 52,856 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital in Northern Ireland is 4,232, up 31.
Northern Ireland recorded fifteen further deaths. There have been 1,011 COVID related deaths.
Northern Ireland saw a monthly decrease of 49%. In total 13,740 cases were reported in November, with 295 covid related deaths. The month of November saw 1,317 admission to hospital.
