814 New Cases of COVID19

Eight hundred and fourteen COVID-19 cases were announced by the HSE tonight, this brings the total cases to 42,528 in the Republic of Ireland. The HSE and Department of Health also announced full hospital figures for October 9th, thirty-one cases were health care workers. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 3,794 cases (up 25). Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 1,066 to 20,158 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital in Northern Ireland is 2,003 (Up 12).


The headline figures show a total of 814 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 10th of October, with two new deaths reported. Overall 1,826 COVID related deaths have been announced.

Northern Ireland recorded one further death. There have been 588 COVID related deaths in Northern Ireland.

The Island of Ireland had an increase of 1,880 cases, bring the total number on the Island to 62,686.

The republic had 4,496 cases for the weekending 10th of October, 2020, compared to Northern Ireland's figure of 6,084 for the same week.
