617 New Cases of COVID19
Six hundred and seventeen COVID-19 cases were announced by the HSE tonight, this brings the total cases to 40,703 in the Republic of Ireland. The HSE and Department of Health also announced full hospital figures for October 7th, forty-six cases were health care workers. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 3,755 cases (up 26). Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 1,080 to 18,190 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital in Northern Ireland is 1,971 (Up 27).
The headline figures show a total of 617 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 8th of October, with five new deaths reported. Overall 1,821 COVID related deaths have been announced.
Northern Ireland recorded one further death. There have been 587 COVID related deaths in Northern Ireland.
The Island of Ireland had an increase of 1,697 cases, bring the total number on the Island to 58,893.
