506 New Cases of COVID19

Five hundred and six COVID-19 cases were announced by the HSE tonight, this brings the total cases to 40,086 in the Republic of Ireland. The HSE and Department of Health also announced full hospital figures for October 6th, fifty-six cases were health care workers. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 3,729 cases (up 28). Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 923 to 17,110 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital in Northern Ireland is 1,944 (Up 30).


The headline figures show a total of 506 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 7th of October, with one new death reported. Overall 1,817 COVID related deaths have been announced.

Northern Ireland recorded one further death. There have been 587 COVID related deaths in Northern Ireland.

The Island of Ireland had an increase of 1,429 cases, bring the total number on the Island to 57,196.
