Nearly Two Thousand New Cases Covid Case Across the Island of Ireland
One thousand and twelve COVID-19 cases were announced by the HSE tonight, this brings the total cases to 41,714 in the Republic of Ireland. This is the first time since April 13th that they number of reported cases has gone above 1,000. The HSE and Department of Health also announced full hospital figures for October 8th, thirty-six cases were health care workers. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 3,769 cases (up 14). Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 902 to 19,092 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital in Northern Ireland is 1,991 (Up 20).
The headline figures show a total of 1,012 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 9th of October, with three new deaths reported. Overall 1,824 COVID related deaths have been announced.
Northern Ireland recorded no further deaths. There have been 587 COVID related deaths in Northern Ireland.
The Island of Ireland had an increase of 1,913 cases, bring the total number on the Island to 60,806.
