Slovenia\'s Tadej Pogacar took the top place overall bring him the Yellow Jersey, having won 3 stages over the course of the race, stages 9, 15 and 20.

The Six Nations Rugby have announced an end to the postponed Six Nations Championship, following the decision of the World Rugby Council on the 30th of July. The Championship will resume on the 24th of October in Lansdowne Road, Dublin. Ireland will face Italy. The Womens World Cup starts today. Unlike 2015 RTÉ and TG4 have been able to agree a deal with the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) to air all the games. The Girls in Green will not be taking part, but the tournament is sure to get a boost with the full coverage provided by both public service broadcasters. France is the host country for the tournament taking over from Canada in 2015. Games and Highlights will also be available from both broadcasters players.

France have been announced as the hosts to the Rugby World Cup 2023, beating of competition from Ireland and South Africa. South Africa had been tipped to host the competition after it came out on top in all categories by the The Rugby World Cup Limited (RWCL) Board, however following 2 rounds of votes France was selected by the team nations. Ireland received 8 votes in the first round of voting and where then excluded from the second round of votes where France received 24 votes to South Africa's 15.
