2,295 Covid Cases Across Ireland

Two thousand, two hundred and ninety-five COVID-19 cases were announced across the Island of Ireland tonight. This brings the total cases to 77,182. The HSE and the Department of health announce 1,283 new cases in the Republic of Ireland, meanwhile in Northern Ireland 1,012 new cases were announced.


Republic of Ireland

The headline figures show a total of 1,293 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 17th of October, with three new deaths reported. Overall 1,852 COVID related deaths have been announced.

The HSE and Department of Health also announced full hospital figures for October 16th, twenty-eight cases were health care workers. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 3,980 cases (up 24).

The weekending the 17th of October saw the reporting of 7,434 cases, they highest number of weekly cases since the pandemic began.

Northern Ireland

Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 1,012 to 27,220 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital in Northern Ireland is 2,260 (Up 14).

Northern Ireland recorded five further deaths. There have been 615 COVID related deaths in Northern Ireland.

The weekending the 17th of October saw the reporting of 7,062 COVID cases in Northern Ireland.
