2,575 Covid Cases Across Ireland

Two thousand, five hundred and seventy-five COVID-19 cases were announced across the Island of Ireland tonight. This brings the total cases to 74,886. The HSE and the Department of health announce 1,276 new cases in the Republic of Ireland, meanwhile in Northern Ireland 1,299 new cases were announced.


Republic of Ireland

The headline figures show a total of 1,276 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 16th of October, with five new deaths reported. Overall 1,849 COVID related deaths have been announced.

The HSE and Department of Health also announced full hospital figures for October 15th, thirty-one cases were health care workers. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 3,956 cases (up 20).

Northern Ireland

Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 1,299 to 26,208 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital in Northern Ireland is 2,246 (Up 15).

Northern Ireland recorded two further deaths. There have been 610 COVID related deaths in Northern Ireland.
