613 New Cases of COVID19

Six hundred and thirteen COVID-19 cases were announced by the HSE tonight, this brings the total cases to 37,688 in the Republic of Ireland. The HSE and Department of Health also announced full hospital figures for October 1st, forty cases were health care workers. Twelve people were admitted to hospital. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 3,643 cases. Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 726 to 13,612 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital is 1,860 since the begin of the COVID-19 crisis in Northern Ireland.


The headline figures show a total of 613 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 2nd of October, with two deaths reported. Overall 1,810 COVID related deaths have been announced. It should be noted that the Department of Health have also included 8 deaths that occurred prior to September 2020, it should also be noted that yesterday the Department of health de-notified 6 deaths bring the number down to 1,801).

Northern Ireland recorded one further death. There have been 583 COVID related deaths in Northern Ireland.
