Two men in north Dublin have been arrested under the Drug Trafficking Act. A joint intelligence operation between the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Revenue\'s Customs Service size 129kgs of a substance suspected to be Cannabis Herb worth an estimated €2.5million. The seizure took place in Lusk on Wednesday 3rd of February, 2021.
A woman who was seriously injured in an attack in the IFSC area of Dublin has died. She was attacked on the 20th of January 2021 as she was out walking between George\'s Dock and the Custom House Quay in Dublin\'s financial district (The International Financial Services Centre (IFSC)). She was pronounced dead today (3rd of February 2021). Gardaí are continuing to investigate the murder while they wait for the results of a post-mortem.
Dublin City and County have be designated at level 3 of the Resilience and Recovery Plan for Living with COVID-19. The measure come into place from Midnight tonight. Dublin will remain at Level 3 for a period of 3 weeks, until Friday, 9th October. It will be then reviewed based on the status of the virus and the public health advice. Schools and early learning centres will remain open but all Third Level colleges will be closed.
The Roscommon and Longford Divisional Drugs Unit of An Garda Síochána seized €21,000 worth of cocaine in two separate search operations. The searches were carried out in Longford town. A house in the town was searched on Sunday 23rd of August, 2020. A second address was searched on Tuesday, 25th of August, 2020. The drugs have been sent for analysis. A man in his 30s was arrested and released without charge, a file has been send to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
An Garda Siochana have charged a man in his 60s with the fatal stabbing of a woman in Clontarf. The assault happened on Sunday (23rd August 2020). The arrest was made yesterday evening(25th of August, 2020). He is due to be charged before a sitting of the Dublin District Court. The investigation is on going.
Gardaí, working with the Revenue\'s Customs service, have seized 22kilos of Heroin. Two men have been arrested and are currently detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station. The operation was part of an ongoing joint investigations targeting the importation of illegal drugs.
