Woman Dies Following IFSC Attack

A woman who was seriously injured in an attack in the IFSC area of Dublin has died. She was attacked on the 20th of January 2021 as she was out walking between George's Dock and the Custom House Quay in Dublin's financial district (The International Financial Services Centre (IFSC)). She was pronounced dead today (3rd of February 2021). Gardaí are continuing to investigate the murder while they wait for the results of a post-mortem.


Gardaí in Store Street are appealing for witnesses in relation to a serious assault on a woman that took place on Wednesday night 20th January, 2021.

At approximately 9.30 p.m., a woman (late 40s) was walking on the pedestrian walkway, between Georges Dock and Custom House Quay, IFSC, Dublin 1. During the course of the robbery the woman received serious injuries. She was taken to The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, she passed away on the 3rd of February 2021.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

Gardaí are appealing for any persons who may have witnessed the incident or who were in the vicinity of Custom House Quay, George's Dock, Harbourmaster Place or Connolly Train station, Amiens Dublin 1 between 9.15pm and 10pm on the night of Wednesday 20th January 2021 to contact Gardaí and also any individuals that may have camera footage of this incident or surrounding locations to make this footage available to Gardaí.
