JNLR RADIO LISTENERSHIP ANNOUNCED
The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has announced the latest JNLR Listenership results. Nationally most stations have seen slight increases or decreases or no change at all. In Dublin RTÉ Radio 1 remains at the top with a 27% share (down 1), Dublin's FM104 is next with 22% (no change). Together Communicorp stations have a 45% share of the total audience across Today FM, NewsTalk, Spin and 98fm, in the capital.
In Cork the significant winner is Cork 96FM with a 49% share of the audience (no change), RTÉ Radio 1 decreased its share in Cork by 1%, while 4fm highest listenership remains in Cork at 6% (no change). In the South East Local Radio remains popular with an audience share of 61% (up 1%), Beat FM comes second with 23% (up 1), with RTÉ Radio 1 coming in 3rd with a 21% share (up 1%). Local radio also claims the top spots in the rest of the country. In the south west RTÉ Radio 1 is also in third place with 22% share (no change) while Spin South West remains at 21% .
In the North west i102 has 20% (no change), while Radio 1 again 1 to 23%.
North East and Midlands seeing smaller audience for i105 with just a 12%(up 1) audience share. RTÉ Radio 1 down 1 with 22%.
4FM the multicity radio station has 4% share in its catchment area with other local radio taking 56% of the share in city areas, RTÉ Radio 1 has a 26% share.
