RTÉ Faces Cuts
RTÉ is facing vast cuts in the coming year. Presenters pay will drop by 30% from 2008, however many will say this has a lot to be desired when you look at figures back in 2008.
The table below outlines what those 2008 presenters will expect to earn in 2013. Colm Hayes was a newcomer to the list in 2009 and we've used this figure to calculate his drop. We have exclude details on the late Gerry Ryan out of respect.

Other planned cost reductions included the closure of their offices in London. A 25% decrease in sporting rights (2010 budget was around the €40million mark) while retaining an Irish sporting focus and a reduction in the cost acquired programming of 10%.
