Citadel picks up Audience Award at SXSW Festival
Citadel has won an audience Award at the South by South West (SXSW) Music and Film Festival. Directed by Ciarán Foy the film premiere at the festival's Midnighters section.
The short is an Irish/Scottish co-production. The psychological horror is written and directed by Ciarán Foy and is his debut film. The story tells of an agoraphobic father who teams up with a priest to save his daughter from a gang of twisted feral children.
The film stars Aneurin Barnard, James Cosmo and Wunmi Mosuka, with Ingrid Craigie and Amy Shiels. The film was produced by Katie Holly (Blinder Films) and Brian Coffey (Sigma Films). Gillian Berrie, Kieron J. Walsh and David Mackenzie were Executive Producers. The film was was funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann, Creative Scotland, Section 481 and UK Tax Credit.
South by South West (SXSW) is a music and film festival based in Austin, Texas. It ran from the 9th to the 17th of March for film, with Music starting from the 13th until the 18th and the Interactive part of festival taking place from 9th to the 13th.
