Ireland On Screen Begins Tomorrow Night on RTÉ One
An Bord Scannán Na hÉireann/The Irish Film Board (BSÉ/IFB) and RTÉ have provided details of the broadcast of Irish film over the course of the next two weeks on RTÉ One. Runaway, Happy Ever Afters and Ondine will be given their network television premieres on the channel. Ireland On Screen has been part of the RTÉ schedules on a number of previous occasions. Films will run an hour later on RTÉ One +1.
Dermot Horan, Director of Broadcast & Acquisitions, RTÉ Television, said: "We are delighted to be working with the Irish Film Board again on this Ireland on Screen initiative and to also continue our investment in this key Irish industry. We hope this broad selection of exciting and popular Irish films will appeal to a wide range of viewers."
James Hickey, Chief Executive,BSÉ/IFB, said: "We are delighted to work in partnership with RTÉ on this Ireland on Screen initiative which will bring a range of Irish films to audiences, which they may otherwise not have a chance to see. It's really important to us that Irish films find an audience not only in cinemas but through other media including television."
RTÉ and the BSÉ/IFB have co-commissioned a number of films in the past. Run and Jump is their most recent co-commission, an adaptation of The Sea by John Banville.
