New Sit-com for Jason Byrne
Dublin native Jason Byrne is to re-create his BBC Radio 2 comedy radio series, Father Figure for BBC television. The show is a BBC in-house production and will be produced by Julia McKenzie and Stephen McCrum. The series revolves around the life of Tom and father who trying to be the best father he can be for his two sons, unfortunately bad luck and extended family scupper his plans.
Jason Byrne will play the lead role in the series with a cast that will include Pauline McLynn, Michael Smiley and Dermot Crowley.
Jason Byrne said on the announcement "I am delighted to finally announce that we will be making a pilot of my sitcom Father Figure. It’s been a big dream of mine and I’d never have thought I would get the chance to join the ranks of the television sitcom world."
