RTÉ have announced the return of their prime time soap opera Fair City. The series had been take off the air due to the COVID-19 crisis. An exact date has not yet been releases but it is expected to return during September 2020. The series will reflect life with covid, characters will follow the COVID-19 restrictions.
The Eurovision is heading to the United States of America. Much like the Eurovision all 50 states will be given the opportunity to compete in a version of the competition for USA audiences, with each of the fifty states being represented by an original song, unlike the Eurovision the series will not have entries from other American nations.
The 20th series of the hit ITV series, I\'m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! will be shot in the UK for the first time. The series would normal be in the Jungle outback of Australia but due to the COVID-19 crisis the producers have opted to Staycation. Ant and Dec return has hosts. The King or Queen of the Jungle, will now be King or Queen of the Castle. The series will also air on Virgin Media One.
BBC ONE is to bring a new talent search show to audience this autumn. The series will follow band members Perrie, Jade, Jesy and Leigh-Anne as they search for the next big pop band. Singers will be select to join different bands that will be mentored by Little Mix a band created in 2011 from reality tv show X-Factor. Little Mix The Search is produced for ModestTV for the BBC.
As Ivan Yates retires from broadcasting Newstalk has announced his successors in a shake up of the schedule. The Pat Kenny Show remains in the mid-morning slot between nine and midday. Moncrieff keeps is mid-afternoon slot between 2 and 4. Kieran Cuddihy leaves behind the early mornings to take on The Hard Shoulder, while Ciara Kelly moves to Newstalk Breakfast with Shane Coleman. Taking over Lunchtime Live from Ciara Kelly is Andrea Gilligan.
The BBC have announced that there popular period drama Gentleman Jack is to return in 2020 to BBC ONE and the BBC player. The series preiemered on BBC One in May 2019.
