561 Covid Cases Across Ireland
The 11th of May saw a total of 561 new COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 448 cases. In Northern Ireland 113 cases were reported. In total there have been 375,237 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 448 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 11th of May, with no deaths reported. Overall 4,937 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for May 10th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 14,416 cases, a daily increase of 20.
A total of 13 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on May 10th. A total of 28,839 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
The weekending the 11th of May saw an decrease in cases of 304 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 2,926 between the 5th and 11th of May. A total of 22 COVID related deaths were reported that week, an increase of 3 from the previous week.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 113 cases on the 11th of May. They reported no COVID related deaths, 2,148 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
1 person was admitted to hospital on the 11th of May. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 9,399.
The Northern Irish Health Department will no longer announce COVID numbers on weekends or bank holidays. The next announcement will be on Monday, May 10th.
