408 Covid Cases Across Ireland

The 7th of May saw a total of 408 new COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 408 cases. In total there have been 373,070 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020. Northern Ireland will no longer update covid case number on weekends or bank holidays, the next update will be on Monday, May 10th.

Republic of Ireland

The headline figures show a total of 408 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 7th of May, with 1 death reported. Overall 4,919 COVID related deaths have been announced.

The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for May 6th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 14,371 cases, a daily increase of 28.

A total of 16 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on May 6th. A total of 28,793 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.

Northern Ireland

2,146 have died in the north since the pandemic began.

The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 9,376.

The Northern Irish Health Department will no longer announce COVID numbers on weekends or bank holidays. The next announcement will be on Monday, May 10th.
