684 Covid Cases Across Ireland
The 19th of March saw a total of 684 new COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 525. In Northern Ireland 159 cases were detected. In total there have been 345,638 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 525 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 19th of March, with 9 deaths reported. Overall 4,585 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for March 18th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 13,219 cases, a daily increase of 39.
A total of 12 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 18th. A total of 27,846 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
In total 2,875 health care workers were diagnosed with COVID in February or 13% of the total cases reported. In total 2,034 people were admitted to hospital over the course of February.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 159 cases. They reported no COVID related deaths, 2,103 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
13 people were admitted to hospital on the 19th of March. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 9,098.
