663 Covid Cases Across Ireland
The 6th of March saw a total of 663 new COVID-19 cases across the Island of Ireland. The HSE and the Department of health announced 525. In Northern Ireland 138 cases were detected. In total there have been 336,206 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020.
Republic of Ireland
The headline figures show a total of 525 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 6th of March, with 2 deaths reported. Overall 4,422 COVID related deaths have been announced.
The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for March 5th. The total number admitted to hospital with COVID-19 was 13,166 cases, UP 43.
A total of 24 Health Care Workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 5th. A total of 27,480 health care workers contracted COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
The weekending the 6th of March saw a drop in cases of 908 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 3,627 between the 28th of February and the 6th of March. A total of 103 people were reported to have died that week, down from 80 the previous week.
Northern Ireland
The Northern Irish Health Department announced 138 cases. They report 3 COVID related deaths, 2,075 have died in the north since the pandemic began.
13people were admitted to hospital on the 6th of March. The total numbers admitted to hospital since the pandemic began is 8,950.
The weekending the 6th of March saw a decrease in cases of 362 from the previous week, the total number diagnosed was 1,152 between the 28th of February and the 6th of March. A total of 20 people were reported to have died that week, a down 2. Total numbers attending hospital that week was 81, down 52.
