1,725 Covid Cases Across Ireland

One thousand, seven hundred and twenty-five COVID-19 cases have been announced across the Island of Ireland tonight. This brings the total cases to 145,838. The HSE and the Department of health announced 938 new cases in the Republic of Ireland, meanwhile in Northern Ireland 787 new cases were announced.


Republic of Ireland

The headline figures show a total of 938 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 22nd of December, with 13 deaths reported. Overall 2,184 COVID related deaths have been announced.

The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for December 21st. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 5,687 cases, up 13.

A total of 106 health care workers were reported to have been infected. A total of 13,055 health care workers have contracted COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

Northern Ireland

Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 787 to 63,723 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital in Northern Ireland is 5,041, up 15.

Northern Ireland recorded twenty-one further deaths. There have been 1,240 COVID related deaths.
