718 Covid Cases Across Ireland

Seven hundred and eighteen COVID-19 cases have been announced across the Island of Ireland tonight. This brings the total cases to 131,187. The HSE and the Department of health announce 227 new cases in the Republic of Ireland, meanwhile in Northern Ireland 483 new cases were announced.


Republic of Ireland

The headline figures show a total of 227 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 8th of December, with two deaths reported. Overall 2,102 COVID related deaths have been announced.

The HSE and Department of Health announced full hospital figures for December 7th. Twenty-seven were healthcare workers. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 5,360 cases, up 17.

Northern Ireland

Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 483 to 56,278 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital in Northern Ireland is 4,460, up 16.

Northern Ireland recorded twelve further deaths. There have been 1,085 COVID related death
