2,108 Covid Cases Across Ireland

Two thousand, one hundred and eight COVID-19 cases were announced across the Island of Ireland tonight. This brings the total cases to 85,510. The HSE and the Department of health announce 1,066 new cases in the Republic of Ireland, meanwhile in Northern Ireland 1,042 new cases were announced.


Republic of Ireland

The headline figures show a total of 1,066 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 21st of October, with 3 new deaths reported. Overall 1,871 COVID related deaths have been announced.

The HSE and Department of Health also announced full hospital figures for October 20th, seventy-four cases were health care workers. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 4,118 cases (up 63).

October's figure now becomes the highest monthly figure since the beginning of the pandemic, so far 17,879 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed, this compares to April's figure of 17,460.

Northern Ireland

Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 1,042 to 31,034 cases in total. The total admissions to hospital in Northern Ireland is 2,453 (Up 49).

Northern Ireland recorded five further deaths. There have been 634 COVID related deaths in Northern Ireland.
