253 New Cases of COVID19
Two hundred and fifty-three COVID-19 cases were announced by the HSE tonight, this brings the total cases to 32,271 in the Republic of Ireland. The HSE and Department of Health also announced full hospital figures for September 16th, Sixteen cases were health care workers. Thirteen people were admitted to hospital. The total number admitted to hospital stands at 3,490 cases. Figures announced by the Northern Irish Health Department show an increase in cases of 163 to 8,943 in total. Six hospitalizations occurred in Northern Ireland bring the number to 1,618 hospitalized, since the begin of the COVID-19 crisis.
The headline figures show a total of 253 new cases as of 12 midnight on the 17th of September, with three deaths reported. Overall 1,792 COVID related deaths have been announced.
Northern Ireland recorded two further deaths. There have been 575 COVID related deaths in Northern Ireland.
