Channel 4 New Year 2018
Channel 4 have announce a host of new programming for the new year. 2018 will see new and returning series to the channel to start your year. From Derry in the 1990s to Celebrities Dating Channel 4 and it suite of services will have you reaching for the bounties, who doesn't like a bounty, more for me I guess.
Kiri is a new drama from BAFTA-winner Jack Thorne (National Treasure). It follow the kidnapping of a young black girl. She's living with a foster family. An unsupervised visit by her biological grandparents see her disappear, the blame is laid at the door of Mirima, a social worker played by Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley). The series also stars Lucian Msamati and Lia Williams.
Set towards the end of the trouble, Derry Girls, recounts the 1990s through the eyes of teenagers. Written by Lisa McGee (Raw) and starring Tommy Tiernan. Rebellious Eirn Quinn wants to stand-up to her parents, her head mistress and her ditsy Cousin Orla McCool. The series also stars Saorise Monica Jackson, Tara Lynne O'Neill, Ian McElhinney, Siobhan McSweeney, Louisa Harland, Kathy Kiera Clarke, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O'Donnell and Dylan Llewellyn.
