Edenderry Man Stabbed

A man in his 50 has been stabbed to death in Edenderry, Co. Offally. The incident occurred on Sunday evening the 19th of November, 2017. The man was pronounced dead at the scene following attempts to revive him. A juvenile man was taken into custody for questioning.

Gardaí investigating the fatal stabbing at a house on Green Road, Ballyfore, Edenderry, Co. Offaly that occurred on 19th November 2017

have released the juvenile from custody with out charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

At 7.48pm on the 19th of November 2017, Gardai were called to a house on Green Road, Ballyfore, Edenderry, Co Offaly following reports of a man with serious stab wounds.

Despite the efforts of the medical personnel the man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

A juvenile male was arrested in relation to the incident and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Tullamore Garda Station.

The house is currently sealed off pending the arrival of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau who will carry out a forensic examination of the area. The body of the dead a man remains at the scene.

An incident room has been set up at Tullamore Garda Station.
