Clare Road Death

Gardaí in Mayorstone in Limerick are investigating a fatal road traffic accident which occurred in Melik, Co. Clare on Monday (30/10/2017). The driver of the car was killed and his passenger, a female aged 25, is in a serious condition, when their vehicle collided with a tree, the incident occurred at 3:40am.

The male driver(unidentified at this stage) of the car was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene, his body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick. The female(25 years) passenger was injured and taken to University Hospital Limerick injuries described as serious.

The road has been closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and local diversions are in place.
