Eir Sport (formerly Setanta Sport) and Virgin Media (formerly UPC) have announced that Eir Sport is to return to Virgin Media platforms. Virgin Media Sport will also be made available to Eir customers in the deal. Under the agreement, Virgin Media Sport will be available to eir customers as part of the eir sport pack, and in turn, eir sport will be available to Virgin Media TV customers. This comes as the eir sports pack lost BT sports following a deal with Sky.

The GAA have announced Broadcast rights for the next 4 years. GAA provide a total of 45 provincial and All-Ireland championship matches to Television. A total of 31 games will be provided to RTÉ. Sky will take the remaining 14 games, a move by the GAA into Pay TV, resulting in the loss of these games by TV3.
