The All Ireland Football seasons ends with victory for Donegal and Dublin. Donegal stood the advances of Mayo in the Senior All Ireland Football final to take home the Sam McGuire. The final score was Donegal 2-11 to Mayo's 0-13. While Dublin took home the Minor cup with a defeat against long time rivals Meath. The final score Dublin 3-17: Meath 1-11.
