Sporting RTÉ2 Sees Audience Fall
October saw RTÉ2's audience drop back to 5%, this compares to its best summer results in several years. RTÉ ONE's drama KIN remained the most watched show with 631,600 viewers, down slightly from September's 686,600 viewers. Virgin Media one's Gogglebox Ireland on October 27th had 274,400 viewers. Overall RTÉ held 26% of the audience, while Virgin Media Television retained 19%.
TG4 had an audience share of 2%.
RTÉ ONE saw a monthly increase in audience of 13%, it had an audience share of 20%, down 8% from October last year.
RTÉ2 saw its share decrease 44% from last month, achieving 5% share, it was up 11% from October 2020. This change largely due to the reduction in sports coverage.
RTÉ ONE +1 and RTÉjr had 1.19% and 0.43% respectively. RTÉ2 +1 had 0.20% in October.
Virgin Media one's audience share was 12% in October, an increase of 5% from September, but a drop of 4% year on year.
Virgin Media TWO has a 4% share, up 3% from last month and down 3% from October 2020.
Meanwhile, Virgin Media THREE was at 3%, down 3% from September and up 46% from October 2020. Virgin Media one +1 had an audience share of 0.31%.
Virgin Media Sport had 0.1%.
English channels had 53% share of the audience in October 2021.
