July COVID Cases Up Significantly as Vaccine Role Out Continues
Nearly 60,000 people across the Island Of Ireland contracted COVID-19 in July. The Republic saw as 179% increase in the number of cases from June, and well of ahead of the 635 figure in July 2020. Northern Ireland saw its worst month since the pandemic began reaching just over 30,000 cases for the month, January saw just under 30,000. In total there have been 460,330 COVID cases since the pandemic began in 2020. 5,581,690 Vaccine doses have been administered with a total of 3,595,971 people considered to be fully vaccinated across Ireland.
Republic of Ireland
July saw a massive increase in cases of 179% from June. 29,693 people were detected to have COVID compared to 10,661 in June. In total 35 COVID related deaths were reported, this compares to June's figure of 59, however the June figure includes some of May's figure due the the cyber attack on the Department of Health.
In total 648 health care workers were diagnosed with COVID in July or 2% of the total cases reported. In total 489 people were admitted to hospital over the course of July.
3,319,049 1st doses vaccines have been administered with 2,552,062 fully vaccinated.

July saw a 537% increase in cases from June, 30,069 people were detected to have COVID, up from 4,717 in June. In total 39 covid related deaths were reported, up from 2 in June. 656 people were admitted to hospital an increase of 577 from June.
1,218732 1st doses vaccines have been administered with 1,043,909 fully vaccinated.
